So this past weekend was Mom's Knitting weekend. Myself and two other moms were away in North Conway at my freind's home for Friday and Saturday nights, to return late on Sunday. Bewtween the three of us this is what we accomplished and tried to accomplish.
Saf finished a beautiful Cable Hat from "Knitting for Dummies." (After thoughts, should have taken some pictures) She "ribbeted" ripped out a garter stich scarf that was a little wide and re cast on. I love the colors.
Sha finished a beautiful Feather and Fan baby blanket for a friend who is having triplets. So she has to do two more, but she has some time. She attempted to do a Fair Ilse hat, but we did not have the right needles and, sadly, there were no LYS near by. So she worked on one of many washclothes.
Side story, Sha and I met on line for a members only board for moms of September babies in 2003. She moved up to my area and we have gotten together every week ever since. Well last year we knitted over 30 scarves for all of our other mom freinds on this board. This year I had a great idea of doing wash or dish clothes. I have about 12 done, Sha has about 5 done. We have about 30 or more to do. I know we will get this done with out a problem, they are easy to knit.
So I finished one of my cloths, made one mitten, and half a scarf. I have been in the process of doing a sock for my husband. I have ripped it out twice now. I, for some reason, can not get the right size for his foot. He has narrow feet, so I think I will do my size sock, just a little longer. That is on hold for now though. He told me the other day he wants Golf Club Covers, so that is what I am researching now for, is a pattern for Golf Club Covers.
When I started to knit I thought I would be able to do Christmas gifts for every body. My first year I did a few things. Mostly scarves and stuff. Last year I did a few less things, there just isn't enough time to do all that you want to do. This year, I am doing Mittens for Z's teachers (there are 3 of them,) 2 scarves for his therapist, a scarf for the secretary of the school (this is still optional,) felted bag for M's teacher, (This is done, except the I cord handle. I am considering lining it, for I found out she is having a baby in March, we will see what time allows.,) I am also planning on a hat for the bus driver for M, he has been really nice to us. It is amazing how many gifts are involved when your kids starting going to school.
I promise, that when I get my act together I will post some pictures. I have some great pictures of a log cabin blanket, and my many cloths. Soon I promise.
So today I am looking for the Golf Club Covers and cleaning up the house from this weekend. Have a great day people and hopefully we will see you tomorrow.
PS THE RED SOX RULE......
It took 86 years for them to win a World Series Championship. I never thought I would see another in my life time. Yee of little faith, Sorry Red Sox. I believe in you..

Welcome to Mom, puttint the knitting down......
Welcome to my blog. Today is the first day of I hope of something exciting and new. (Sounds like the Love Boat)
A little back round on me, I started to knit back in August 2005, when my son Z was in the Hospital. I fell in love with it instantly, and I know my mom is laughing "upstairs." I was one of those girls that, I thought, didn't have a creative gene in her body. I guess it just took some time to grow. I have to admit I am a decent knitter. I have done the usuall beginner knitting, scarves, hats, baby blankets, and afghan or two. I also have been doing socks, toe up and top down. I do like thehttp://wendyknits.net/knit/DetailedToeUp.pdf generic toe up sock with the short row heel and toe.
I will admit I tend to take some of my patterns and take it up a notch and alter them. My intent on this blog is to show you what I am currently knitting and to have some fun. I get so excited about my knitting that I really love to share. I hope you won't mind my manderings, some times I get off topic or round-a-bout it. So please be patient and enjoy.
